You know what I find are the times I miss Zach the most? Its the times when it should be "family" time. Such as Halloween. I know its silly. But I really wanted him there tonight to see the girls dressed up as Princess and a Bat. To see Ally get scared by the people dressed up handing out candy.
Anyway. I know its gonna get a little rougher going into the holidays. But soon after that he'll be home! and thats Great :D
Ok folks I know its been FOREVER since I last blogged, as Im sure you have guessed or already know my life is EXTREEMLY busy!! and look we are at day 230! :D WHATT???!?!?! we are under 150 days to go!
Zach was home on RnR about a month ago. We had an absolute blast. Although he didn't make it home until 3 days AFTER Kaylee's birthday and left early in the am on my birthday we still had quite a bit of fun to include a WONDERFUL family vacation (cell phones off, no computer) for 3 days at Great Wolf Lodge! It really has solidified that nothing can change us in our relationship we seriously grow stronger the longer we go!! We ARE Meant to be together!! I love him so incredibly much.
I finally put Ally back in regular school a week ago Friday and she LOVES it! She says her least favorite part of it is coming home. Although I am happy to report that she says there are no cute boys in her class. So that always makes Dad proud. Ally and I are EXTREEMLY involved in Girl Scouts now. When I say involved I mean as to the fact I am now a "Group" Leader of 5 troops and the County Service Unit Sales Manager. Ally is also in dance class on Wednesdays and Swimming on Thursday. I seriously considered putting her in gymnastics on Mondays but decided against it since that would give us absolutly no week nights off!
Kaylee is walking around and insists on CLIMBING On everything and is a regular Evil Knevil. And she thinks its funny when she scares Mom and Grandma. She picks up on things and adds to her vocabulary daily! She knows how to sign "More" and "Please" and I have yet to decide what word to teach her next.
In July we had adopted a flame point siamese kitten from the Wenatchee shelter and he was named " Chief Whoppers Marcus Mystery" and traveled well all the way from Washington. He was honestly the best kitten I've ever met and everyone who met him agreed. However, sadly we had to put him to sleep on the night of Kaylee's birthday due to the fact he started having seizures. But 5 days after we buried him we welcomed Garfield a 4 year old flame point siamese into our home. (we adopted him from our vet) Garfield is 15 lbs solid cat (not fat cat) he is extreemly cross eyed and a love cat who drools when he is purring. He's not Chief but he and Teddy get along great (the majority of the time) and hes a great addition to our family.
Well Im gonna head to bed tonight...............I'll catch up more tomorrow
So I took an extended Vacation. and I can honestly say A LOT has happend in the past few months. I will not bore you with ALL the details but Im sure that some of the past few months will come out in my future posts so you dont feel so lost on certain events.
Im in Washington State for the summer, I actually only have a couple weeks left here and have been here since Mid-June.
I have had a great time visiting friends and this past month has gone faster than any month since Zach Left! and Im under the 2 month mark until he comes home on leave.
I guess I should just update you on a couple facts. Zach got moved out of Bravo Company to Delta and is now a maintence shift supervisor however he is continuing to fly once a week with Bravo.
Kaylee is now fully crawling and pulling up on EVERYTHING. She has 4 teeth completely in and 4 more coming in soon. Her vocabulary now includes: Kitty, Mama, Dada, Up, Hi, Ni Ni (night night) and Bye. She is also waving. and can sign more, however she is NOT sleeping through the night still................
Ally is doing well. although her turn towards clutzdom (like her mother) has taken a sharp turn and she is covered in bruises and scrapes.
Myself? I of course am as busy as always :D Planning Planning Planning! (Currently a baby shower for our friend Beccah)
Well That is the basic updates I will write more tomorrow!! Good Night!
135 Down, 230 to go!! (Hey Im almost 1/2 way baby!! Yeeeeaaahhh!!!0)
Well today, for once, I got a lot accomplished not everything, but a lot. My lawn is mowed (I paid a guy to do that but its DONE!) I got the invites for my Mother in laws Scentsy Party out, I bought stamps, got Ally a new Kitten, did laundry and went over Ally's school books to see where to start next week (Im Actually really excited about it!)
36 Down 329 to go!
Ugghh!! I have allergies bad!! I'll have to catch up soon!!
Ok so Im going to back up to let me think..........Friday. We went to the circus in Salina, Nancy and Butch went with us. It was a really great show except for the 8 horses running around the ring for 20 minutes. We stayed until half time then had to get back so Ally could go on her campout with Uncle Rainer (she did get to ride an elephant though) Oh and I got the title to the girl who bought the Taurus :D Finally! :D
On the way back from the Circus, I was rubbing Kaylee's gums and I felt something sharp. I pulled right over and sure enough we had a tooth!! I was so excited for her.
We got back to Hutch and got Ally off on her campout, let me tell you she was one excited little girl. then Kaylee and I stopped by Aunt Linda's to show her Kaylee's tooth. Then Nancy called inviting me to go to Hog Wild for dinner so Kaylee and I went.
The house was really quiet when we got home, I decided since Ally wasn't home that I would try a little "tough Love" on Kaylee. I didn't get her the 1st two times she cried and she eventually fell back asleep! (Im trying to get her to sleep thru the night) I also took a bath! and I watched a movie by myself, "Night @ the Museum: Smithsonian" cute flick.
Saturday Am, Kaylee woke with a fever of 102. So I opted to not go to church with a fussy baby. Shortly after noon I decided that I was hungry (and bored for that matter) so I was going to get something to eat then go for a walk. I went to McDonald's and ordered a sweet tea and a Southwest Salad with no chicken (which I have done quite a few times before) I pull up to the pay window and handed the chic my card, she handed it back to me with a reciept for 17.31!! And a bunch of burgers and stuff! so I pulled up to the next window and pointed out the error. He looked at me, and said "what do you want me to do about it?" HELLO?? are you serious anyway I ended up getting so frustrated I just paid for my order then left, I parked and started eating my salad, and started feeling a little funny then I saw it.............THE LIME!!! Im deathly allergic to Lime for those of you that dont know. I called the "How are we doing?" number on my salad bag and told them what had happened. I dont think I would have even been upset if they would have just apologized ONCE!
I spent the next couple hours just walking up and down mainstreet pushing Kaylee and feeling weird, but ok. I ordered the invites for Mom's suprise birthday party. I guess I had better not tell her about my blog until AFTER her party right? LOL.
So at 3 I took Kaylee over to Nancy's and Ally was back with Uncle Rainer, I heard great stories about their trip. Then I headed off to McPherson to take the engagement photos. WHICH Turned out GREAT by the way. I did however see the funniest thing I think I've ever seen. When I pulled up to the park there was a combine there, to make a long story short, it was a get a way vehicle for a bride and groom!
Well I will try and catch some more up tomorrow!!
34 Down-331 to go!
Well today was a great (yet busy day) . First off I should mention that last night, I realized Recon was missing, we still haven't found her so I dont know where she is. But my theory is she got out at some point.
This morning I was able to sleep in a little. :D Which is always nice. Martina and I decided to go to the Cosmosphere and the Hutch Zoo instead of the Zoo in Wichita because it was supposed to rain there today. She got to Bogey's about Noon, and Katie and her family and soon there after my in laws joined us. We had a nice lunch, OMG Im so tired I dont think Im going to be able to post...........Im sorry........I PROMISE PROMISE PROMISE I will catch up during the day tomorrow.
33 Down-332 to go!
Yet again Im exhausted. HUGE DAY! and yet another tomorrow :D
Well as Im sure you can tell Kaylee's first tooth finally popped thru her gums! Im very proud of her. We also went to the circus, we've had a VERY full day so Im going to head, but I'll post pics and other stuff tomorrow!!
31 Down-334 to go!
Today was the best day I have had since Zach left. It started off good and it ended great! This morning after I woke up I was online when my husband popped on and was talking to me! Then all of a sudden my phone rang, it was my Zach, evidently the computer he was on decided to restart so instead of waiting for it he called!
My windshield was replaced. I had a visit with the guy and he ended up taking a scentsy catalog for his wife so we will see if anything comes of that.
I bought Quicken last night to help me save money better and to help me manage $$$ I LOVE it so far. It seems like it was just what I was looking for!
After my windshield was installed, the girls and I headed out. We went to Freddy's for lunch then to the Uhaul place, where I rented a 10X10 Storage unit and a Uhaul truck. We went by Wal Mart and got Ally's camping stuff for this weekend. Then we drove the Uhaul home. Kaylee and I took a nap, after which I decided to look through a couple more boxes (Im going to load them in the am) The FIRST box i looked thru I found the title to the Taurus!! I cant believe it! It really was an anwser to prayer. So the lady and I are meeting up at the Circus tomorrow so I can give it to her! What a relief!
I even got to take a bath tonight!
Im really happy and content! Cant believe its been 1 month tomorrow since Zach left!
30 Down-335 to go!
It seems this is happening more frequently. I drove up to JC today.
Too tired to write...............Goodnight!
28 Down-337 to go!
Today was another day where I got absolutley NOTHING accomplished, ok well maybe I got a couple little things done but for the most part I didn't do anything. Kaylee woke up at 8am. and still having not pooped for 3 days I decided to put her in her exersaucer for a couple hours (because she seems to like to poop there!) Sure enough, 2 hrs later we had success! At the same time I was chatting with Zach online. We had a nice short visit.
Kaylee went down for a nap at 11, which was WAYY early! So I knew she would be up early. I fed Mater got her down at the normal time for quiet time. My phone rang shortly after 1 and woke Kaylee up, she didnt' fall back asleep until 3 or so. Whoosh! I got caught up on the Apprentice. Then I decided we would walk to Spangles for dinner then to the grocery store. Which we did, it was a really nice day (maybe even on the hottish side, because I was sweating when we got back) The girls played in the bath tub and Kaylee was in bed at 8 and all at 8:30 and as you see its not even 9 yet and Im about ready to hit the sack! Oh and the girls of course watched their Book and DVD of Zach. (Ally was having a rough time last night and didn't get to watch the video)
I did a bit of Scentsy stuff today, Im really getting into it! and Im hoping I can do it at the Dogwood Festival here coming up in Arkansas.
Last night I caught up on Amazing Race, Im now going for Jet & Cord or Dan and Jordan, I DO NOT like the PI's or Brent and Caite. And Im glad the lesibians are finally off, they were beginning to get on my nerves.
Undercover Boss makes me cry everytime, kinda disappointed that show is already done for the season.
Still haven't figured out who Im going for on Survivor. But it is a good season to watch!
Well thats 27 down and 338 to go!
I can't believe we are already at day 26! that means this week marks a month of Zach already being gone! Which is great (that time is going so fast!, not that hes gone). I woke up at 9am, which was suprising because usually at least one of the girls if not both is up at 8! But the extra hour to sleep in was very nice. I got the girls up and then took forever to motivate myself to go change out my license plates. I had done the registration online (because my car is registered in WA state) and every 5 years in WA you have to get new plates or pay $20 to keep your old plates. Well there was no way I was going to pay to keep my old plates. My old registration ran out yesterday so even though the stickers on the back of my car are technically good thru this month, my registration had expired. And I didn't want to take the chance of getting pulled over and not having current registration. I finally mustered up enough motivation to go out there and do it, and in its entierty ended up only taking probably 3 minutes to switch both plates out!
We went to Zach's Mom's church (Mitchell Chapel) for the "Holy Humor Day" which was a nice light break and we stayed for the fellowship.
Ok I have to tell you something really quick before I forget, since it just happened. I just went out to get a cup of tea, and I noticed that there was a plastic bag wrapped around one of the knobs of my stove. I guess that the clock portion of my stove works, so it had been winding and winding this plastic bag for who knows how long!! But I thought it was kinda funny!
Alrighty well back to my day. I guess I should back up just a little and tell you that before I left for the church I got an email from one of the LWT (Soldiers Angel's people) telling me that a member of my team had been deleted for being under age. I was a little puzzled because I was sure I had recieved an email from this girl and she had said that her prior Team Leader was helping her. But I was off.
So after Church we came home and Kaylee and I took a long nap. Although, I finally got my text alerts for facebook working again so Zach got on but the connection was too bad on his end for us to even chat so we chatted tonight before he went into work.
Well I hate to do this to you but Im really sleepy and going to hit the sack, I'll write more tomorrow.
26 down -339 to go!
Ok, so I've been hearing this song on the radio for a while however it wasn't until the other day that I listened to the words and I've Highlighted the line that makes me smile and think of Zach every time!
Shawty's like a melody in my head
That I can't keep out
Got me singin' like
Na na na na everyday
It's like my iPod stuck on replay, replay-ay-ay-ay (2x)
Remember the first time we met
You was at the mall wit yo friend
I was scared to approach ya
But then you came closer
Hopin' you would give me a chance
Who would have ever knew
That we would ever be more than friends
We're real worldwide, breakin all the rules
She like a song played again and again
That girl, like somethin off a poster
That girl, is a dime they say
That girl, is a gun to my holster
She's runnin through my mind all day, ay
Shawty's like a melody in my head
That I can't keep out
Got me singin' like
Na na na na everyday
It's like my iPod stuck on replay, replay-ay-ay-ay (2x)
See you been all around the globe
Not once did you leave my mind
We talk on the phone, from night til the morn
Girl you really changed my life
Doin things I never do
I'm in the kitchin cookin things she likes
We're real worldwide, breakin all the rules
Someday I wanna make you my wife
That girl, like somethin off a poster
That girl, is a dime they say
That girl, is the gun to my holster
She's runnin through my mind all day, ay
Shawty's like a melody in my head
That I can't keep out
Got me singin' like
Na na na na everyday
It's like my iPod stuck on replay, replay-ay-ay-ay (2x)
I can be your melody
Oh girl that could write you a symphony
The one that could fill your fantasies
So come baby girl let's sing with me
Ay, I can be your melody
Oh girl that could write you a symphony
The one that could fill your fantasies
So come baby girl let's sing with me
Ay, na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Shawty got me singin
Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na
Now she got me singin
Shawty's like a melody in my head
That I can't keep out
Got me singin' like
Na na na na everyday
It's like my iPod stuck on replay, replay-ay-ay-ay (2x)
Ok, well I know I've been promising you to catch up and I know Im now 2 days behind, and look at the time!! Its after midnight again, so what Im going to do is, Im going to blog about today then at least I wont fall another day behind. Then if/when I get time I will go back and catch you up (although Im sure its not to terribly exciting)
So today the girls and I woke up about 8:30. Which was great timing since I wanted to go to church today. Got the girls ready and off we went. I was greeted at the door by the girls Sabbath School Teacher who was thrilled to see us (because I play the piano for Sabbath School). Sabbath School was nice, I think Kaylee is starting to really be able to enjoy it. Then Church. We stayed for Potluck and I visited with the Pastor for the first time (he pastors other area churchs so is only in Hutch 2 weekends a month) .
After church the girls and I came home and laid down for a nap, actually Kaylee and I were laying down for a nap, when Ally started freaking out that there was a spider on her doll house. So I told her she could either go kill it or come lay down on my bed and take a nap with Kaylee and I so that is what she opted to do. When I woke up both Cats had joined us!!
We went over to Nancy's for a while and tried out the new swing set, both of the girls LOVE IT! Then we went and ate at Freddy's (YUMMY!).
Ally listened to the book/DVD Zach sent!! Kaylee watched the DVD this time!! and smiled, it made me cry though, because I can tell she really loves her daddy!
I've decided to destress my life a little. As of Thursday Im renting a Storage unit and putting ALL these boxes in it. Then Im going to Clean my house and bring the boxes home 1-2 at a time and unpack them. That way I dont get overwhelmed.
I have a busy week, but Im just going a day at a time. I think my new start will help me a lot.
25 down -140 to go!
I cant believe how tired I am yet again. I promise I will blog more in the day time tomorrow instead of late at night! That way you will be completely caught up!
24 down -351 to go!
Well we got home this morning after a quick stop in McPherson to do a cake consult then it was to Roy's, and for the record I have figured out why I go there right at 11 when they open! It was absolute crazy!
Well Im tired, I'll finish tomorrow.
23 Down- 342 to go!
Well Im back on the road headed back to Kansas. Ive stopped for the night in Colby. Im pretty tired although I think I could have gone a bit further, but I had made reservations here so I figured I might as well stop and get some sleep!
I'll write more tomorrow.
22 down -343 to go!
Well, I decided to kind of mess around with my blog and see if I could dress it up a little, and as you can see I figured out a few things! Im pretty excited about it! So while Im still awake I'll blog about today so I dont have to catch up tomorrow or keep you in suspense for that matter.
Kaylee and I, after having a rough night slept in a little. After which we kinda hung out and I made a 1/2 Sheet Cake for Bethany. (its a chocolate and white marble mix) :D Mom left to go get her hair done. Ally decided to play out on the deck for a little while, while Kaylee took a nap. Neither lasted too long. When Ally came in she said she was hungry, so I asked her what she wanted. She wanted a PB & J sandwhich, I asked her what made her think I knew how to make them, she told me she would make it. And she did! About the time she finished Mom came home, Ally had a nice quiet time and Kaylee and I took naps on the couch!
I got quite frustrated at a few things today. Zach's internet connection that Im paying $90 a month is one of them. He could barely even type one line without getting kicked off. However, tonight I was able to talk to him about 5 minutes so that was kinda worked out.
Sprint cut off my phone today because they are stupid and when all was said and done they gave me a $25 credit just for my time, which is nice so I'll stay with them until the get stupid again.
Well now Im really headed for bed, and I hope to get some sleep, although I have noticed it's EXTREEMLY hard to sleep without my husband next to me. I once thought he was crazy, because he had been complaining about the baby waking him up, so I told him he could sleep when the girls and I were out of town. He told me no, I sleep worse when you are gone. And I know now what he meant.
Good Night :D
Well I didn't sleep well last night, so Ive been fairly exhausted all day. Not much happened. but if I think of anything I'll let you know, tomorrow.
21 Down- 344 to go
Well we had quite the day! This morning after breakfast we went out to Babies 'R' Us to look for an umbrella stroller for Kaylee (and mom wanted one for her house so she would have one) We looked and looked and found a couple but they were more than either of us wanted to spend. I ended up getting a really cute little frog clothes hamper, a corner toy hammock and 2 books for Kaylee. Next we went to Hobby lobby so I could pick up some stuff for a Cake Im doing for Bethany's Dad. My Mom bought me an awesome decorating book!!( I've already read through it 3 times). The stroller type I was looking for was the kind similar to what Katie had, because when we went to the PX a couple weeks ago Kaylee really liked it and it leans back so the baby can take a nap. She had told me she found hers at Sears, so Mom and I decided to go look for one there. We found the exact one Katie has and it was marked $49.00. So we both were going to buy one, when we got to the register the lady rang it up and it came up as $39.00. then mom used her Sears card and saved $10 more! So We got these GREAT Strollers for $35.00 a piece!! We used one right away and went to lunch in the mall Kaylee LOVES the seat. We went to Panera Bread for lunch and as always it was super yummy! Then we stopped by King Soopers to grab some cake stuff and say hi to Marcy.
Marcy is this lady that works at the Tully's Coffee inside King Soopers, we started visiting back when I was out in Colorado for the month after Kaylee was born. Ever since then we chat and visit and she enjoys seeing the girls and how much they are growing.
We got home and I was putting Kaylee down for a nap when my Mother in Law, Mel, got online asking when I was coming back, as I was chatting with her my husband msgd me on Facebook and we ended up doing Skype for about 20 min. He was waiting for his flight to Al Asad and was supposed to manifest at midnight. So He should be there by now (Im hoping) I talked to CC for a few minutes, and found out that most likely Zach is on night shift which is great! (he prefers them and it works better for a chatting schedule for us!)
Oh that reminds me, I have to tell you that when I was picking out Ally's clothes this morning She told me she didn't want to wear what I had picked out for her because they weren't "sexy". I told her she should be "sexy" at her age anyway. And that she was cute. Silly kid!
So after a nice nap. Mom, Kaylee (in her new stroller) Ally and I walked to the park. Kaylee LOVED Swinging. I definately need to get a swing for her to play on, because she laughed and giggled the whole time. It also wore her out. We walked down to the "swamp" as Ally called it. and I was going to get a Cattail to show Ally, well I ended up stepping in mud about 1/2 way up to my knee so I had to wash my all white shoes tonight!! LOL
Kaylee slept most of the ride home. We had dinner and now its time for bed!
20 days down- 345 to go!
Alrighty well let me catch you up from Friday am.
We left the hotel in Hays and filled up with gas. As I was filling up I noticed an elderly couple who seemed to be having car troubles, I noticed a box that said Vibrant Life on it, (Vibrant Life is an Adventist publication) So I decided to see if I could help. They had dropped their oil cap down into the engine compartment. After about 10-15 minutes I was able to get it out. Turned out they were going to visit their grandchildren at Campion.
Well I got to the house about noon. We had lunch. And took a nice nap. I made a Cheddar Potato soup Friday night, however, it was a little too thick so we jokingly called it Cheddar Potato Salad Soup! (but it was really YUMMY!)
Sabbath we got ready for church and as I told you yesterday I heard from Zach, my brother and Bethany made it so we had a nice time visiting yesterday afternoon.
Today was Easter, the girls got up about 7am. Zach was online so we got to skype with him again and he watched the girls open their Easter baskets.
We colored eggs and Ally found them. Really exciting for her! Then we made lunch! We had Zach on Skype while we made lunch which was kinda fun. Then I talked to him one last time before Kaylee and I took a good long nap.
Its nice to be here and be able to relax. But Im ready to get back and unpack my house!
19 Down- 346 to go!
well Im tired and probably need to go to bed, so I will continue the rest of my trip very soon (there are some stories I have to tell you and will take me a few more minutes than I have)
We went to church this morning. Ally got a beautiful quilt from Ruth, I'll post pics of it tomarrow. Just as church was starting I got a FB message from Zach saying he was online. So I texted him a few times and he assured me he would be on when I got home from church. So I rushed home and we got to skype for the first time! Which was really cool! The whole family talked to him.
Well Im headed to bed. We have Easter in the am!!
18 Down- 347 to go!
Ok, so I've kinda gotten a little behind so Im going to try and catch up, if I don't get you COMPLETELY Caught up tonight, I will do some tomarrow night as well. But I promise I will eventually get caught up!
So let me rewind to Wednesday. I got to Manhattan to pick up my Uhaul at 10am. As I pulled up I saw my Uhaul with the trailer already hooked up (I was thinking, this is a good sign!) So I rented the truck, and the guy helped me load my car on, I loaded up the girls and went to turn the airbags off and guess what. The key would turn but the airbags (on the passangers side would not turn off!) So basically the manager spent the next 2 hrs trying to figure out how to turn it off, we tried everything, and she kept calling different people to see if they knew any tricks. Finally after 2 hrs, I asked if there were any other places with trucks we could switch out with. So she made another call. And we found a 17'. So we headed over there. Soon as we got there the guy who had driven the original truck I was supposed to rent magically got the stupid thing to turn off!! So that was how long wasted?
Needless to say it was only thanks to my two friends Martina and Tuyet that we got the rest packed and the apartment cleaned by 8:30pm that night. The girls and I drove back only stopping in Salina at Freddy's for dinner. I had never eaten there before but I have to say I think they have the BEST Veggie burgers I've ever tasted!! and the fries?? Those are great too! (Ally says its my new favorite place to eat!, and she might be right) Kaylee cried for quite a while on the way home ,but finally the girls fell asleep. We made it home after 11 and I put them straight to bed.
I was up at 8am yesterday morning unloading the truck. Nancy came over at about 8:30 with Breakfast for Ally and to help me unload the 3 boxes I needed help with. And for the record I put ALL the boxes from the 2nd trip in the storage shed because I have absolutly no room ANYWHERE in my house to put them!
After that I returned the Uhaul, washed my car then met Nancy and Butch, at Roy's for my weekly fix. (Im telling you the food is so good there, its even a vegitarian's favorite.) Nancy brought the girls Easter Dresses she had bought for them, they are really cute, they are blue and match. I'll post pics after they wear them. After lunch I ran by Linda's store to drop off a suitcase Zach had borrowed from her in December 08! LOL. Oh and when I was putting it in my car I noticed there was something in it! I found Zach's Nintendo DS that he's been looking for for quite some time!
Then we went home and took a NICE LONG NAP! After which we went to Wal Mart and I got the oil changed. (yee haw) and got a few other things we needed. We went to Freddy's again for dinner.
While Ally watched Survivor and a few other shows we needed to catch up on. I emptied the cat box, took out the trash, did laundry and packed suitcases. Then packed the car at 10pm I left with the intention of driving thru the night to get to Denver. What I didn't know was about the thunderstorm I would encounter shortly after getting on W I-70. At first it was windy, and kept getting more windy (turns out I was fighting side winds in excess of 50mph) then it was raining (but had the yummy spring rain smell I love) and I got to watch an incredible lightning show of massive bolt lighting while I listened to talk radio. It took me almost an extra hour to get to Hays so I opted to just get a hotel room at the Hampton Inn. So that is just what I did.
This morning I woke up at 5 with my alarm going off, I decided I was still too tired to drive so I re set it for 6, still too tired so 7. at 7 I finally was able to rouse myself and the girls and get us the brown bag breakfasts and get back on the road.
Well Im tired, so I will catch up the rest of today tomarrow!!
Found out Zach is officially in Iraq now. Wish I would hear from him.
17 Down- 348 to go!
Just a quick post Im driving to Colorado tonight so I will post a full update of the past two days tomorrow after I get some sleep!
Well I have to admit I almost forgot to blog, its been yet another exhausting day! Im headed to bed right now, I promise to write more tomarrow, but I am finished!! with the apartment in JC!! YeAH!!
15 Down-350 to go!
As exhausted as I was yesterday you would think I would have had no problem going to sleep last night. Well that proved to be wrong, but mostly for the fact that I got thinking about Zach and I and how we had been dating almost a year (it will be a year on Thursday). And started missing him terribly. And didn't fall asleep until 4:30am. But I decided to just relax today since my body was still sore from the past two days of packing/unpacking etc. So until 4:00pm I was still in my PJ's which was rather nice. We went out to Village Inn with my inlaws (we go out to dinner before girl scouts each week). Had a total idiot of a waitress. But got our dinner to include desert in a decent amount of time enough to get to scouts.
Oh Zach called today we had a really nice chat. We talked for about 30 minutes! Oh but of course he called when I had been on Hold with Unemployment for 30 min waiting. Oh well, it was worth it! I cant wait until he gets up north and is able to have internet in his CHU!
At scouts tonight I became the new Troop Leader for the Brownie Troop since Darlene is moving. We had a nice time, although a few of the Daisy's had meltdowns.
There is a campout in two weeks its a Father/Daughter campout! But Rainer (Zach's Brother) is taking Ally so she still gets to go! She is so excited!
Tomorrow we are headed back up to JC to make one final load and clear out of the APT! I cant wait! well im headed to bed!
14 Down- 351 to go!
For the Record!! Ally is FIRED from Unpacking!! That girl only drags out toys then leaves them on the floor!! So shes FIRED until Further notice!
Ok well I'll continue from yesterday and get through as much as possible even though today has been thoroughly exhausting as well.
So Yesterday morning as I turned onto I-135 N. I was accelerating and waiting for my cruise control to kick off when it reached cruising speed, it kept going faster and faster it got to 85 MPH and then I realized that the Uhaul doesn't have Cruise Control and it was my foot! Needless to say I was Mentally tired in the morning. So about 45 minutes after I left, I called Katie and we ended up talking almost our entire trip back to JC since we were both tired. We got to JC and went on post to the PX, grabbed some coffee then headed to the APT we worked all day, and a little after we got there, Martina and Marissa came over, Marissa is about a month and a half older than Kaylee so the babies had a grand time playing all day! We had lunch at Cracker Barrell. and at 7 had a completely full truck and an almost empty apartment. So I am sworn to go back to it on Wednesday, to do the last little bit! Martina is coming over to help as well as Tuyet, so we should get it knocked out in no time!! and be home with time to spare!
On my way home last night Kaylee slept for an hour then all of a sudden woke up screaming, so I pulled over to feed her, then as I put her back in her carseat she started screaming again about 10 seconds later she started throwing up all over. So I had to change her, feed her again then calm her down, however, the calming her down didn't do much since she preceded to scream almost the entire rest of the way home until she finally cried her self to sleep. I got home EXTREEMLY tired so I just got us both ready for bed and went to sleep.
Zach called at 4am, we didn't talk for long but at least he called. Kaylee woke up at 8 with allergies so I gave her her allergy medicine then we both went back to sleep. I woke up about 10 and decided to try to get some stuff done while Kaylee was still asleep. Linda (Zach's Aunt) brought back Ally on a Sugar High shortly afternoon. And my mother in law showed up to watch the girls shortly after 1. She took the girls on a bike ride/walk while I began to unload the truck, I had about 2/3 of it done by the time she got back. It was a beautiful day outside and Kaylee seemed content to play in her exersaucer on the porch so Nancy helped me unload the rest of the truck to include the gun cases! I returned the Uhaul got my car back and came home!!
For dinner the girls and I walked to Spangles which is only 2 blocks away, after dinner we walked to Dillons which was about 8 blocks from Spangles. Then we walked home!! Needless to say we got our exercise today! Im glad tomorrow is more of a down day! Then one more BIG day of moving! sheesh!! Will it ever end?
Well 13 days down!! 252 to go!!
Well I rolled out of bed and was dressed and on the road earlier than I have been since the Day Zach left! (0630 to be precise) I drove over to the Uhaul joint and dropped off my car and switched Kaylee (in her carseat) to the Uhaul. We drove and drove, she talked to me for quite a while.
I am so exhausted at the present moment from the entire day that Im going to cut this short and catch you up to speed tomorrow.
12 Down - 353 to go!
Well, I dont know what it is about Friday nights but for the past 3 I have had bad stomach aches resulting in not much sleep. So again I opted out of going to church. About 2 I headed out to the Uhaul place (which is not the one I have been using right near my house its WAY on the other side of town!) So when I got there I realized that there are only 2 seats in it! Not 3! Which creates a problem. however, I called Aunt Linda and so Ally went over there tonight. Which was a total life saver! And needless to say Ally was excited all afternoon about going, infact almost to the point that I didn't get a good nap! Who needs an alarm clock when you have an Ally?
The house is VERY quiet tonight, Kaylee went to bed shortly after we got back from dropping Ally off. I watched Ace of Cakes (they did a really cool Serenity cake) I ate some ramen, and really missed the Ramyon (cheese) from Korea with a Peach 2% water!! Those were the days!! Then I condensed some more boxes, and now Im going to head to bed in hopes my husband calls in the middle of the night.
Kinda a blah day............I cant wait to be done with the other apt!
11 down -----------354 to go!
Well, needless to say you can see what the main focus of my day has been. I've been doing a ton of laundry, but Im the type of person that if stuff has been in storage for a year (out door storage) I have to wash it Before Im going to wear it even if I washed it before I put it in storage. So I've just been doing loads of laundry (I know bad pun)! I have also started sorting out clothes that are too small for the girls and clothes that belong to Zach and putting them into their perspective bins.
I also had to do an extra load of my bedding because this morning I was going to change Kaylee, I laid her on my bed and went to get the diaper and wipes and while I was doing that, she exploded!! I mean EVERYWHERE it was gross!!
We did take a break however and go out to the Carriage Crossing out in Yoder (there is a reason they call it that). We went out there to Celebrate Grandpa Leepers Birthday. The bread is SOOO Yummy and fresh! I ate almost half a loaf by myself! (Really I did!) Ally at all of her food and got to have an ice cream treat!! Which was so large she couldn't even finish it.
Tonight when we got home I was folding laundry on my bed (imagine that) and all of a sudden I heard something in my closet, I looked and my clothes were moving, then the ones next to it started moving and progressing down the line of clothes. Recon had jumped up and was hanging onto all the sleeves climbing on my clothes, (I have no idea why) I scared her so she jumped down knocking down two of my sweaters. She is bugging Teddy right now, which makes it a little difficult for me to concentrate so I yell at her every few seconds. We plan on getting her fixed when we get back from Colorado, hopefully that will mellow her out some.
I didn't hear from Zach today, but I did hear from Dan and I found out that the sensitive items milvan had come in so Zach was doing that stuff (hes the unit armor).
Oh, the Uhaul place called me today to confirm my reservation, they didn't have the truck I had reserved in JC or Manhattan, so I ended up having to be able to pick up the truck here in Hutch and drive round trip to JC in the moving truck. They are giving me a free extra day and 120 miles so its not costing me anything extra except in fuel. So I think I'll probably head up there after church sometime tomorrow so I can get a head start on packing stuff before Katie comes up Sunday.
Well 10 days down------355 to go!
Until tomarrow!
Well today wasn't a half bad day. It started out fairly well. Girls woke up at a decent time Zach called shortly after lunch and I got to talk to him for about 15 minutes, which was great. I wanted to talk to him about selling Scentsy. But hadn't had the chance until today to ask him what he thought about me doing it. I had done some research into it, and we talked and decided that I can give it a try to help keep busy and to maybe make a little extra cash. So Im pretty excited about that I've already booked a couple shows and I haven't even officially started yet!
I got an ok nap today, even though Ally kept coming in and asking me to check my phone (to see if quiet time was over). I think Im going to get a timer for her room and just set it so if I do want to take a nap she wont bother me! LOL. Oh and before nap time I got to have a quick but great conversation with my BFF Caroline via Skype since shes in Iraq.
Ally and I were discussing where we should eat dinner tonight. She said if we went to Spangles that I had to tell them that she couldn't have a coloring book (the toy) because she was in trouble. Shes not in trouble she just has about 10 of the same coloring books and didn't want another one. Shes so silly, but we ended up going to Wendy's anyway.
I did quite a bit of laundry today and made quite a bit of progress in unpacking the rest of these boxes. I hope to finish up tomorrow, that way I can have a day of rest before I go get more from the JC house to unpack. Im finding all sorts of clothes that I USED to be able to fit into. So once I get settled down Im going to start working out and trying to loose some weight! Ally is so funny, she wanted to help me with laundry. by hanging up clothes, well she started hanging up dirty clothes, I told her they were dirty, and she said, "I haven't seen you wear this". Silly girl. So I just let her hang things up and tonight after she went to bed I put them back in the dirty clothes.
I dont know if I've told you about this Bathring/Seat thing we got from Freecycle a few months ago, but its a great thing. Kaylee loves sitting in it, and Ally likes it because they can take baths together. Its really fun to watch them play!! (well its always fun to watch them interact, Kaylee really loves her sissy!) But this Ring is GREAT!! Kaylee can't fall forward and get her face in the water reaching for stuff, but she can still splash and have a great time!
I attempted to watch Grey's Anatomy tonight, however, it was all about Assisted suicide and Owen was having flashbacks to Iraq which was WAY to close to home and brought out my PTSD and put me in quite the funk. I couldn't even bring myself to watch Private Practice.
I turned off the TV and came back to my room and started talking to a couple of friends online, then I started watching the end of the K-State/Xavier game (Sweet 16) I was also talking to my Mother in Law online as we were watching, it went to Double over time before the Wildcats FINALLY won!! It was CRAZY but a great game! I got more loads of laundry done too! So its later then I had originally intended on going to bed, but seeing them win and go to the elite 8 was worth it! And I dont even LIKE basketball!
Tomorrow is Fiona's 7th Birthday! For those of you who don't know, Fiona is the baby I placed in an open adoption, well 7 years ago. She lives in Colorado and we still visit from time to time. I just can't believe she'll be 7, or actually I can't believe all that has happened in 7 years since I had her!! Both blow my mind to think about (as Zaboo from Zaboomafoo, Ally's favorite show says, I can't believe my mind!")
Well 9 down, 356 to go!
Well, I fell asleep shortly after I blogged last night, however I was waken at 0130 for a phone call from my husband which was great! I miss him so much and I absolutely Love him more everyday.
I roused myself about 930. To get up and get the girls ready, because Wednesday is Roy's day!! And today we were taking GG (Zachs Grandma) to Roy's for her birthday. So after we got ready we went and picked up GG and went to Roy's turns out (I had forgotten this fact) that GG and Anne (the owner of Roy's) used to work at Sears YEARS ago! and GG hadn't been out to Roy's for a few years so I think she had fun. We then took Katie some Roy's since she never is able to go either.
Ally was trying to convince me that Kaylee wasn't tired and we needed to stay at GG's, well GG invited Ally to stay and play. So I took her up on it and enjoyed a WONDERFUL UNINTERRUPTED 3 hour nap! with Kaylee and Recon!
After my very restful nap I paid my water bill and went to pick up Ally, we picked up Spangles, and headed over to my mother in laws. On the way over, Ally asked me what a "Hita" was. I told her I didn't know then she tried to tell me it was the biggest mushroom in the world even bigger than a giraffe! I told her whatever and she was silly. She then told me, it was like a little Taco thing. I said, oh a FA-JITA. Strange random thought yet again from my 5 year old!
We went to my Mother-In-Laws church and made "Resurrection Eggs" Which is a really cool Idea and I had seen them at my friend Trudy's last year for Easter.
We came home watched, "America's Next Top Model" "Survivor" then I put the girls to bed and watched "Shear Genius".
Oh during the thing at the Church I booked 2 Graduation Cakes. and now it looks like the BIG red cake I did, the bride is booking me for her daughters birthday cake!! Im getting pretty busy and loving it.
Tomorrow I am committed to finish unpacking my house (I know, just so I can bring in more boxes to unpack!).
8 days down--------357 to go!!
Well it seems FAR longer than just a week since Zach has left, but alas a week is all it has been. I didn't get to sleep until 4:30 this morning and even then Im not quite sure you could even classify it as sleep. Im going to make the direct correlation to my lack of sleep to the lack of communication from my husband I've had lately.
At 7:30 my alarm went off to go to this Free Pastry day, but even the thought of a 142 degree White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha and a free Pastry could not drag me out of bed. But as it turns out it all worked out since my mother in law had fallen asleep in her chair and didn't wake up until 9:30.
I woke up for "good" around 8:30 and continued to putz around the house all morning. After lunch I attempted to take a nap but after finally getting Kaylee asleep she ended up only taking an hour nap. So much for a nice 3 hr nap!
After quiet time we went out to Burrton where my father in law and his wife live. We stayed out there for about an hour then headed back in, as we were leaving the farm, Ally started complaining about how hungry she was! By the time we reached Hutch ( a 20 min drive) She was positive she was starving to death! She saw a gas station and said, pull over at that rest stop they have LOTS of food! But I kept driving then she told me she could only make it to Spangles but couldn't make it the next two blocks to our house. I ended up deciding that Sonic looked good to me so thats where we went.
Today marks the 2nd day Zach hasn't called which is rather distressing and I started to get in a funk tonight and actually ended up breaking down while the girls and I were watching the Biggest Loser. You dont realize how much these calls mean to those at home until you are on the receiving end (or non-receiving end in this case)
Katie and I are set for Sunday to finish up the JC Apt. Which I'll be glad to be done with for good however I still have a few more boxes to finish going through here before I'll be ready to go up there and do it.
Well we have 7 down, 358 to go!!
Until tomorrow night.
I forgot to mention that I got a GREAT Review for the Wedding cake I did 2 weeks ago!! I posted it on the Celtic Cakes website which I finished the other day. Here is the link.
You can also become a fan of Celtic Corner Cakes & Catering on Facebook!!
Well today was more of a recovery day more than anything. For the first time since Zach left I was in bed and ASLEEP before midnight ( I think I fell asleep about 10:30). I woke up at 7 and about 8 let Kaylee play in her exersaucer while Ally ate breakfast and watched Sprout. Ally LOVES the little oranges (Clementines) and ate 3 of them and a cup of yogurt for breakfast! I let her have as many as she wants because I figure the Extra Vitamin C she will get will help her stay well (notice shes the only one who hasn't been sick so far. I meanwhile tried to nap a little more but was HIGHLY unsuccessful. At 11:30 I fixed lunch for Ally and myself, and she ate her entire lunch and decided she wanted 2 more clementines for dessert! I got the girls down for quiet time, I watched the episode of Apprentice that I was too tired to watch last night, then laid down for a nap myself with Kaylee. After nap time, I went and picked up some clothing off of free-cycle (Some business suits that I can wear for consults :D) and then we went over to Grandma Bass's to take her pictures and visit for a little bit. We visited, for about an hour (many conversations were repeated) She will be 81 tomorrow and on Wednesday we are going to treat her to Roy's.
We came home and on the entire ride home Ally was taxing my nerves arguing that she didn't want pizza and that we couldn't eat supper at home we had to eat out. We finally got home and I figured out that she would accept Mac N Cheese for supper. I fixed it for her, and as we were eating I noticed that the cats were acting hungry so I asked her to feed them, about 10 minutes later she hadn't returned so I asked her what she was doing, she was cleaning out the cat box. She said, "its really dirty mom, so Im scooping it out!" What a great kid!! (totally making up for the getting on my nerves earlier"
We watched Dancing with the Stars tonight and I am duly impressed by Buzz Aldrin at the age of 80 the incredible shape he is in to compete at that level!
Tomorrow is free pastry day at Starbucks. So Im meeting my mother in law and some of her friends and Starbucks at 8 in the am (which is earlier than I have been up all week) to get our free pastry, and Im hoping that tomorrow will be a much more productive day then today was, even though I needed it to get better from this cold.
6 down, 359 to go!
Until tomorrow..............
Well after I last posted, my cold continued to get worse, In face at one point I went out to my car and searched for cold medicine that may have been left out there by accident, with no luck. I was up until almost 4 am when I was finally able to fall asleep. I guess I fell asleep a little to soundly because Ally came in at 6 to tell me Kaylee was crying. So then I was able to sleep a little more until about 1000 when Kaylee decided it was time to get up, I had planned to go back to sleep until it was time to get up to go to lunch but Zach called shortly there after and we had a nice chat.
We went to lunch with my mother in law her husband and her parents at this pretty decent Mexican place. Where despite the fact that I was sick I HAD to have the deep fried Ice cream, for some reason its just one of those have to have comfort foods.
After we ate the girls and I came back to the house where I laid down with Kaylee and we took a 3 hr nap. Afterward we went to a Cavalry Echos concert which was really nice, although Ally has WAY to much energy and a shorter attention span. I went over to hook up my mother in laws wii fit and new web cam.
My head feels like its going to explode so Im going to bed early and hoping tomarrow brings better feelings so I can get stuff done!
5 down-360 to go!

Today wasn't the greatest of days. After I posted last night, I started feeling sick again. When I woke up I still wasn't feeling the greatest so I opted not to take the girls to church. Kaylee still had a runny nose. So after this afternoons nap, I went to Walgreens and picked her up some cold meds and another nose sucker since it seems I left the other 10 we have at our JC house.
Zach called at shortly after noon. He talked to Ally for 10 minut
es. He and I also had a nice chat. I Miss him so much and I think I was even more frustrated after his call. Since everything seems to be coming down.
I want to get my house clean, and unpacked then just start to live! The boxes are driving me insane. Tomorrow I want to get it all picked up and do a lot of laundry. Then after next weekend I'll unpack the rest of the stuff from our JC house then I'll be good to go, and this is precisely WHY the army is moving me COMPLETELY when we move back on post in FEB!
When I went out to Walgreens I decided to swing by the dollar store to get some clothes hangers, since all mine are well, still hanging in the closet in JC! And I needed some to hang up laundry after doing it! So I searched all around the store and found ONE pack in the return cart and bought it but how crazy is it that they only had one???? Stupid. Oh well, 10 will do me for a minute or two. I'll probably stop by a different store and get some tomorrow.
The red wedding cake I did last week's bride found me on Facebook, and she had some great pics of the cake I did, so of course Im including them with tonight's post.
I feel like junk at the moment so Im going to try and go to bed and hope I feel better tomorrow.
4 down 361 to go!
Well, Day three was pretty uneventful, although I did get to talk to my wonderful husband this morning, which was GREAT! Then I finished my 2nd wedding cake for my business, it turned out really well. And I used a new type of Fondant, I will NEVER go back to my previous fondant!
Its SNOWING currently which is Crazy because it was 65 degrees out yesterday! My parents have gotten 9 inches so far!! I HOPE it doesn't get that deep here, but if it does, Im sure the girls and I will HAVE to go out and play in it!
Gave the girls a bath tonight, together for the first time. I got a ring thing Kaylee sits in and it works GREAT!
Well not much else to report on, just reporting in.
3 Down, 262 to go!!
Well shortly after my last post. I heard sirens and then saw ominous blue lights flashing thru my blinds. It was at this time I realized that I had left my gun in the glove box of my car. They were out there for at least 45 minutes. I found out later today, that a woman had run from the cops and it had ended when she ran into a tree! Evidently which was located on the street perpendicular to my house! But now, my gun is inside and will be within reach should the occasion ever arise that I might need it.
Kaylee for some reason decided she wanted to get up and play this morning at 7. So she did for about an hour then went back to sleep. We woke back up at a little after 11. I decided to dig into laundry (which was quite a task because last night I unpacked several boxes of just clothes) I ordered Pizza for lunch. After quiet time, the girls and I went over to my mother in laws to set up her skype and help her learn how to upload videos to Youtube. While there she was talking about a concert she and Butch were going to attend that evening, Ally said, "I want to go, what is a concert?" She ended up going and had a lot of fun dancing to the bluegrass music.
Kaylee and I went to the cake decorating store, and grocery store, got home and did more laundry.
Tonight I have been baking yet more wedding cake, thank goodness this weeks is A LOT smaller than last weeks however its more intricate I will post pics to marrow when its finished.
Last night while I was unpacking these boxes I found my most favorite pants EVER!! These purple parachute pants that I absolutely love!! I am stoked.
Didn't hear from Zach today which was a little disappointing. Ally ran to the phone when ever it rang asking if it was Zach. She did however go to bed/sleep with no tears, but I think its because I set up Kaylee's Pack n Play in her room and Kaylee is sleeping with her (along with Recon the cat)
We received another blessing/show of support today, Nancy's neighbor offered to clean out his shed so we can park Zach's Chevelle in it! (its outside of Nancy's Shed currently)
So we have 2 down and 363 to go!!
Until to marrow night!
I forgot to mention how touched I have been by the outpouring of love, support and prayers. These were two of the status's on FB yesterday:
Roy's Hickory Pit BBQ Hutchinson, KS Wishing God Speed to Zach Bass on his deployment to Iraq today. We will keep the home fires burning. Thanks for all you do. God Bless You. God Bless America.
Tuyet Dawson I met the bravest little girl this morning. She greeted me with a smile, but was fighting back the tears. Her Daddy deployed from Ft. Riley early this morning, for his fourth tour in Iraq. Little Miss Allie- You are my hero. Thank you.
and I have received many emails, texts and messages of support and prayers. It truly means a lot to myself , Zach and the girls. I now have even better confidence that we will make it through this year. There will be hard days and easy days, but we will get through it!!! thank you!
I ended up going to bed at almost 3am. And only because at about 2:30 I got a call from Zach in Germany. I tried to wake Ally up but she was OUT so she didn't get to talk to him and I heard about it in the am.
Kaylee woke me up at 10am. I was surprised to find that Ally wasn't even awake yet! But about 10:15 she came out of her room. We spent about 15 minutes finding Green clothes for all three of us to wear so we wouldn't get pinched.
We went to Roy's for Lunch. Roy's is Zach's all time FAVORITE BBQ!! And I have to say, even for Vegetarians like myself its really YUMMY food! While there we got to see a "leprechaun" (a lady dressed like one with a pot of chocolate gold). We came home for quiet time after Roy's. I decided to lay down with Kaylee thinking I would only sleep maybe an hour, yeah right! I woke up at 3:30!! Oh well, I guess I needed the nap.
I went over to my mother in laws picked up some stuff I had over there and borrowed a hammer (so I can hang up pictures). Shortly after I left, my phone rang and my stupid GPS picked up the phone, it was Zach and instead of me pushing the button to give it back to my cell I terminated the call!! SO, I hoped he would be able to call me right back! He did!! Ally got to talk to him for a minute, it was 1am his time so we talked for about 10 minutes then he left. But we should be able to chat tomorrow at some point.
I drove to a town not far away to pick up some clothes for Kaylee then back to Hutch and picked up some infant cereal also from Free cycle. Then we hit up Spangles again. We got home at
Tonight I tucked Ally in but she DID NOT want to sleep in her bed, when I was tucking in Kaylee Ally came in crying about how she missed Zach so I let her sleep on a mattress on the floor by my bed ( if you ever slept with her and got kicked ALL night you would understand why I wont let her sleep ON my bed!) Kaylee was a bit fussy tonight, while I was calming her down, Ally came up and started singing to Kaylee and rubbing her tummy! it was so incredibly sweet and she got Kaylee to sleep!
I have A LOT to do or attempt to do tomorrow, to include, getting groceries, making a wedding cake (just the baking part, decorating is Friday), getting a title for the Taurus, and I would really like to get my kitchen painted.
Our Cat Teddy, whom we adopted a little over a year ago and worked 6 months with before we could even pet him, right before we moved he would sleep on the bed with us, come out even with company over and was just about a normal cat that was just a little shy, when we moved him down here he started hiding again and reverting back to when we adopted him, however last night he slept with me and let me love him up really good! So thats great! We think maybe he was just waiting for us to be here, and understand that we live here too!
Well Im sure I've rambled enough..........so until tomarrow............
2 Down 363 to go!
So today was the day, the day Ive been dreading for some time now. Needless to say I dont think I slept but maybe 1/2 an hour last night and even that was a nightmare. About 4 o'clock Zach, Ally, Kaylee and I had a last snuggle on our bed. Then it was time to head to the hangar.
I've decided that it as much easier to leave then to stay behind. Even though leaving is no joke either. After a long emotionally exhausting day it is good to be home. After tucking Ally in bed, she came out crying asking if we could call Zach, it was enough to break your heart.
We will make it, but its going to be a LONG journey! I heard from Zach a couple times today the last being about 4 this afternoon when he was getting ready to leave Detroit for Germany.
So until tomarrow.........

Well the day I have been dreading has finally crept up on me. And with just a few hours remaining until I have to tell my husband goodbye I cant even begin to express my feelings. The past few days have been filled with many random outbursts of tears and trying to enjoy every possible moment I can with him.
We had family pictures taken this past weekend. And that really means a lot to me and Im thankful we got to do it.
My mother in law is in town to drive the girls and I back tomarrow after the ceremony. Even though my apartment is no where near being clean enough to clear it, I will be back in two weeks to finish, hopefully by then I will be able to collect myself enough to just do it.
This Army wife thing isn't a joke!! Thats for sure, in fact I think its almost harder than living the army life! I'll post more when Im up to it.
So we just returned from Colorado last night/this morning. After being out there for a little over a week. Reality is beginning to set in that in less than 3 weeks Zach will be leaving. Im starting to feel the stress. Wondering if I'm really ready for this.
Having been in the Army for so long, I like to consider myself a strong woman, but when it really comes down to it, I'm beginning to question it.
Our house in JC is next to empty, with all the furniture gone except for the TV's and the DVD shelves. You realize that this is it. What I've been talking about for how long now? I've known for over a year now that this day would come, but where on earth did time go?
We had a great time in Colorado and it was a well needed vacation. We even snuck in a date to the Melting Pot and left the girls at home with my parents.
Well Im sure I'll be posting more soon..........
Ok so I realized tonight that I haven't posted in a bit so I figured I might as well post now.
Currently I have not one but TWO sick kids, which is no fun. Kaylee started coughing Monday and it has progressed to even worse. She had her well baby check up on Tuesday and was given an inhaler then which helps when she will take it. Today, Dad finally called in meds for her and those seem to help already!! Thank goodness for Daddy Doctors! Ally started Coughing yesterday and loosing her voice, today however she has been throwing up or as she says " Puking my guts out!" Hopefully it will all be over soon. Especially seeing Ally's birthday is Tuesday!
About two weeks ago, I decided to branch out on my own business and do special occasion cakes. I have already booked 4 weddings and one birthday cake! So Im very excited abotu this whole business and am currently working on my website, I'll let you know when it is up and running.
With our Kansas Tax returns Zach and I split it, he bought himself a netbook and I bought myself a wii, and thanks to Katie a wii fit!! Im in LOVE with it although it kicks my butt every night! I also got the Biggest Looser game and have been working on doing that work out routine every day while the girls are down for their nap.
We got our federal tax returns today and I bought my new Washer and Dryer. they will be delivered to our Hutch house on Monday!! ALong with the fridge I bought on Craiglist! Im so excited to be able to use them since I haven't had my own washer/dryer in almost a year!
Ally started Girl Scouts about 2 weeks ago, her goal was to sell 500 boxes of cookies. and in 1 week she sold 512 boxes!! So now she is the only girl in her troop that gets to go to a special day at the zoo she is so excited to see "real live lemurs".
Well, I had better get to bed!! I'll post more soon!

well this past weekend, Zach and I had the priveledge to go on a Strong Bonds marriage retreat in Kansas City. It was so amazing. We even had our first date alone in over a year. I came to the point that I realized that I married an amazing man! and I love him more every day!
We got a new cat today, she is a Seal Point/Tortoise Shell Siamese. Teddy isn't quite sure what to think of her yet. Zach says he has 3 days to get used to her otherwise we have to give her back which is fine because for those of you who dont know, we adopted Teddy a year ago. He had been abused and neglected, we worked with him nearly 6 months before we were even able to pet him! Now he sleeps on the bed with us, so I totally understand why Zach would get rid of Recon (the siamese) before he gets rid of Teddy.
I booked my first wedding cake tonight!! For May 1st Im VERY excited! I will post more on this!
Well until another night............
Well, the countdown continues to the day when Zach leaves. We've been busy visiting family, packing our house and just plain working. Zach has worked to 7 pm the last 3 days he worked. However, this past weekend we did have a 4 day and went to Arkansas to visit my Grandparents and cousins, which was great fun. Ally got to play with my cousins little girl Sarah. They are 3 months apart in age and had an absolute blast playing with each other.
For those of you that dont know my Grandparents live in Gentry Arkansas, were as chance would have it, is where Little Debbies are made. so on Friday Grandma and I went down to the company store and I came home with about 6 cases of miscellaneous Little Debbies, however most of them are for my adopted soldiers and best friend Caroline.
Well I have a lot more to catch you up on............but Im exhausted, Kaylee decided to keep me up all last night and its already past midnight tonight. So for now Im headed to bed.
Oh I will mention 2 very high points in my life today, 1: My ex husband agreed to let my husband adopt Ally and 2. Ally gets to start Girl Scouts next week!!
Until another time................
Well from the title of this blog you may wonder what these have in common.
Well they are all things I can do when the girls are down in the afternoon for naps or quiet time. Normally, Ally just has quiet time in her room. Occasionally she will lay down for a nap. But on the rare occassion like today, she NEEDS a nap and goes down screaming bloody murder about how she doesn't need a nap and all she wants to do is play.
These rare occasions are VERY hard for me, because I have to put Kaylee somewhere (like the swing, or bumbo seat) while I deal with her sister. But Kaylee hearing her sister, will start crying in sympathy. I finally resolved today's outburst by telling her if she wasn't quiet that she would be staying in her room for the rest of the day even after quiet time. Shortly there after I checked on her and she had already fallen asleep! Kaylee took about a 45 minute nap woke up, ate then went back to sleep!
I have become a very HUGE fan of OxyClean stain remover!! It works wonders!! Kaylee had a blowout diaper this morning and it went all over her swing and new PJ's she was wearing. I sprayed the OxyClean on it and when I changed over the wash to the dryer all the stains from the explosion were GONE!! I should mention that for me to do laundry currently I have to go either upstairs or downstairs and pay $2 per load to get it done. Zach and I have figured out that the laundry mat is a much more cost effective and time efficient way to do laundry! So on Sunday we plan on going to the laundry mat to do laundry. I do a load here and there as needed during the week.
Zach is flying tonight so I think Im going to make Monkey bread. My friend Ernie (also my Angel from when I was deployed) gave me a great easy bread recipie and I use it all the time. So Im going to try it out on Monkey bread tonight. (It makes WONDERFUL cinnamon rolls as well) Here is the recipie:
Combine the following ingredients in a large tupperware bowl:
4 beaten eggs
1 tsp salt
2/3c Sugar
9 c Flour
1 1/2 c Milk
1 1/2 c luke warm water
2 pkgs yeast
Once you mix together let set (30min-1hr)
Add 1 or 2 sticks of melted butter/marg. put lid back on and let rise in warm place for one hour
bake at 375. until golden brown!
Enjoy!!...............until next time
Let me introduce myself to you and tell you a little about myself for those that don't already know me.
Im 30 years old and for the past 11 I was an Active duty Army soldier. However, last April I got out of the Army to become a full time mom. So I went from Army Life to Army wife. My husband has been in the Army for 7 years now and he is a black hawk crew cheif. We met in Iraq in 2003 and then again in 2008, where we started dating and fell in love. I returned from Iraq in September and he December.
We got married December 20th. And for the next 5 months would alternate visits to each other (I was stationed in Washington and he in Kansas). Oh, I also forgot to mention that I got pregnant shortly after we got married. (that was the plan). In May 2009, I moved my cat, my 4 year old daughter and myself down to Kansas, to begin my life as an Army wife.
So far, I've found out that Im quite an accomplished baker and cook with my free time not to mentioned a pretty good mom. I love to cook and bake for all my husbands soldiers and they seem to love it as well.
I gave birth to our daughter on September 18th, 2009. and have been watching her grow like a weed ever since. My husband and I had our big wedding on November 8th for our whole families and friends to be there.
Not too long after that we decided that when my husband deploys in March of this year, I will move to Hutchinson, KS to be closer to his family. I already have a house rented and we have started moving things in.
Im also very involved with Soldiers Angels A program that helped me out while I was deployed and now Im paying it forward! Im a Letter Writing Team leader and an Angel to 3 deployed soldiers. (I'll explain this all more in upcoming blogs)
I have many plans and ideas for my year while Zach (my husband is deployed). I'll start a list of them all on here and keep you updated to changes or events. Not to mention milestones that I or my daughters reach!
My goal is to blog at least once a week until he leaves then every day while he is gone. This is a WHOLE new undertaking since I only know the "deployed soldier" side of deployments and have never done the whole "wife" of a soldier so far.
I thank you for taking the time to follow my journey from Army Life to Army wife.
Until the next time..............
